Natural Resources Volunteer, August 1999 to November 2001

• Collaborated with indigenous farmers in improving land use and habitat quality through agro-forestry, concentrating on the restoration of micro-watersheds and riparian areas.

• Improved community education through design and implementation of environmental awareness programs (i.e. workshops) resulting in more efficient utilization of available resources.

• Aligned with community in initiating a community-run cooperative that provided seed, animal vaccines and farm tool replenishment in an effort to improve diet and nutrition. 

• Developed training program and instructed 24 Peace Corps trainees in applied field work to prepare for their volunteer assignments.
